You may enter this process at different points, depending on your knowledge of the internet and the technical and design resources you have at your disposal.

For a client like The Third Market Corporation, who hired us to do their website from start to finish, we would go through the following process:

First, we meet and discuss your needs and goals. Why do you want a website? What do you hope to accomplish by having a website? OtS would also make suggestions as to how to add further value and functionality to the site. Some of these suggestions can be implemented at a later date if they are attractive to you.

Next, tell us 3 sites you like. Your site will be very unique from any site you show us, but we want to have an idea of your likes and dislikes. This will give us a better idea of the direction you foresee for your site.

Next, OtS goes to the drawing board and comes up with 3or 4 distinct designs for you to look at and choose from. You are not obligated to choose from these first designs, but clients to date have always found one (and usually more) that they liked in this set.
